Sleigh Bed

I never know what to do with my bed spread at the foot of my bed. Since it is a sleigh bed, it doesn't just hang there looking pretty, but it hangs there looking awkward and sticking out. I can't do anything with it that looks right. Any suggestions? Thanks!! So, if I have a regular bedspread that isn't specially made for a sleigh bed, I need to have it fixed so that it'll look right? : )

First tuck under the bottom, then hospital corners on the sides, then tuck in the sides. The whole idea of this style bed is to show off the wood.

Can anyone give me ideas for making up my sleigh bed. I've been covering the wooden side rails with a bedskirt but now no longer want to do that. Should I tuck a light blanket in over the sheets and have a lot of pillows on the bed. Any ideas would be appreciated? My design style is more traditional.

My bed has VERY elaborately carved side rails, so I wouldn't cover mine I use a comforter that is too small for the bed, and just covers the mattress and springs. Coverlets also work, or altering any type of linen you want always works

How would you design a teenager's room around a dark oak sleigh bed?

Oh, how wonderful - I love sleigh beds. First, I would check with her (I am assuming here :o) that if is a "she" -about colors - or check her closet...is there an outfit in there that she likes to wear? What colors are in it? I would paint the walls the same as the outfit or if not then the wall that the bed is on I would choose to do in a dark green and the others a soft light complimentary color in a flat paint (light, soft colors would be my preference) - maybe even a simple stencil if she has a hobby or sport she likes. Paint is cheap and can be easily changed if she wants something later :o).....you don't say what is on the floor but if it is wood I would go with an inexpensive area rug - on the windows roman shades or maybe even balloon shades - on the bed pillows and her stuffed animals - make sure one wall is a "study area" that should include a place to post pictures and other important pictures of friends etc. and another space for her to have her friends in the room. Storage area is important and can even be "under the bed" with clear plastic flat storage bins. If there is room for a small sleep sofa for the overnights for friends is always a nice addition - some of the sofa beds now come with a storage area built in too...have fun doing the room!

I have a temperpedic bed and I would like to buy a sleigh bed that is on sale at costco...I just don't know if my bed will fit in it?

yes, but you must check the size, full, queen or king. so your mattress will fit properly.
